👥 Serves 6

Ingredients

Shells & Toppings:

  • 12 (6 in) corn tortillas

  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce (optional)

  • 1 large tomato, seeded & chopped (optional)

  • ½ cup fresh cilantro leaves (optional)

  • 12 pickled jalapeño slices

  • 6 oz cotija or panela cheese, crumbled

Beef Filling:

  • 1 lb ground sirloin

  • 1 tbsp olive or vegetable oil

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1¼ cups beef broth

  • 2 tsp cornstarch (for proper taco texture)

  • 2 tbsp Crowder Powder Nacho’ Average Taco Seasoning

  • 1 tsp extra Crowder Powder Nacho’ Average Taco (for finish)

Instructions

  1. Crisp the shells (optional but fire):

    • Heat oil to 350 °F in a skillet. Fry folded tortillas ~30 sec per side until crispy. Keep warm.

  2. Cook the aromatics:

    • In a skillet, heat oil over medium. Sauté onion until soft (~3–4 min), then add garlic and cook another 30 sec.

  3. Brown the beef:

    • Add ground sirloin, breaking it up. Cook until no pink remains (~3–4 min).

  4. Season like a boss:

    • Stir in 2 tbsp Nacho’ Average Taco seasoning.

    • Mix beef broth with cornstarch, then add to beef. Simmer until sauce thickens (~2–3 min).

  5. Finish the meat:

    • Remove from heat. Stir in remaining 1 tsp seasoning for punchy flavor.

  6. Build your tacos:

    • Fill tortillas with beef.

    • Top with lettuce, tomato, cilantro, cheese, and jalapeños.
